North Side of the Point of the Mountain

The north side of the Point of the Mountain is a great place to get in an evening flight. Flights on the north side are a lot of fun because they are generally very smooth and you have the opportunity to get very high above the valley. Another great thing about the north side is that the park is very family friendly with lots of grass and park benches.

If your schedule is tight and you only have one chance to get in the air then the south side is for you. The south side is really fun if you like to experience a little ground rush as you fly closer to the ground than any other site in Utah. Squaw Peak Overlook

Squaw Peak Overlook is the most used site after the Point of the Mountain. This site has a paved road all the way to launch and has good cross-country potential. This site produces very consistent thermalling conditions and climbs to 15,000 ft on the good days. This site isn't for someone who tends to get motion sick, but if you decide to fly this site you will be rewarded by some of the most spectacular scenery around.
